We had to promote a series of documentaries on the Historical figure of Napoleon for BBC Earth without using any footage from the show.

Focused on the duality of the man, we took Ingres’ portrait from 1806 as a starting point and recreated it in 3D to confront it face-to-face with its dark side.

The entire project was modelled and animated in Cinema 4D with the help of X-Particles and rendered in Arnold seeking thorough consistency with the Romantic painting.
